New licensing laws go into effect on July 1, 2010 On July 1,
2010 any student who is 15 yrs and 180 days. may take driver education and any student who has successfully completed
driver education may get their license at 16 yrs. 180 days as long as they have held the permit for 180 days. Thank you for considering Sammers Driving School of Indiana for your driver education
instruction. Sammers has been in the business of teaching driver education in the Terre Haute area since 1993 and is now also
available in Clay, Montgomery, and Owen Counties. It is a priviledge we take very seriously and sincerely understand
your concern about you or your child's developing safe driving habits and skills.
Sammers Driving School is certified
by the state of Indiana and licensed by the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. We use only state certified, professional, experienced
instructors. Our goal is to make the roads safer for everyone by helping the beginning driver gain knowledge and confidence
necessary to safely perform the driving task for a lifetime of safe driving.
Driver education may be taken as early
as age 15, but is not limited to only teens. Adults may choose to take a complete driver education course or may take private
lessons if they choose.
In order to complete the State Certified Driving Course students must complete 30 hours
of classroom instruction and 6 hours of driving instruction. Students who need additonal instruction in the classroom or driving
phases of the course may receive that instruction at a discounted rate.
The fee for our course, which includes
6 driving hours and 30 classroom hours, is $375.00. We
are now AAA certified, show your AAA Motorclub Membership card at time of enrollment and save 10% off the original price.
To register for a class, simply fill out an application and return
it to our office with a $175.00 deposit or full payment.
